Cape May is renowned for it’s delightful weather most times of the year. The weather is greatly tempered by the ocean and bay on all four sides of the island. Downtown Cape May gets a Bavarian makeover for one of the area’s signature fall celebrations.
Cape May Oktoberfest transforms Carpenter Lane and Jackson Street into a German-style promenade filled with food, beer, live entertainment, artisans, crafts, antiques and collectibles.
Its downtown location also makes Oktoberfest particularly easy to combine with shopping, dining and sightseeing around Washington Street Mall.
The Greater Cape May Chamber of Commerce confirms the 2026 festival for September 26 from 9 AM to 6 PM, with September 27 reserved as the rain date.

2. Cape May Monarch Festival

Among the 2026 experiences are the Ghosts of Cape May Trolley Tour, Haunted Tales of Cape Island, Voices from Beyond tours and other Halloween-themed events.

5. Rea’s Farm Hot Rods & Hayrides
